Performing Arts

In 2016 Music and Drama will combined to become the Performing Arts under the supervision of one teacher, Sue McAllister.  This will allow for an integrated approach where music and drama support each other making this a richer learning experience for students.  The Festival of Music choir will be taken by John Nielsen and involve students in the upper years.  Learning outcomes from the new structure will include:

  • Greater opportunity for skill development across integrated subject areas.
  • Ability for combined productions.
  • Students able to explore in greater depth the connection between music and drama across curriculum areas, especially in relation to indigenous and Australia’s near neighbour’s music and drama.
